Naperville Area Humane SocietyOur mission is to promote the humane treatment of companion animals and create lasting human-animal bonds.
For 40 years, the Naperville Area Humane Society (NAHS) has been helping homeless animals in our community. Every year we care for more than 700 cats and dogs in need and aid hundreds more through programs that help people and pets. In addition to caring for homeless pets, we offer a free behavior helpline that provides caring pet advice and resources. We also have our Safe Pets program that assists families in crisis, such as domestic violence or homelessness, by offering space in our shelter to care for the family cats or dogs on a temporary basis. To-date, our Safe Pets program has helped keep over 250 animals in their homes. NAHS has a strong commitment to humane education for people of all ages. Humane education that is the innovative, solutions-driven effort to create a better world for people, animals, and the environment. NAHS offers a variety of programs covering various animal welfare topics for children and teens. NAHS has also established two funds dedicated to powerful causes, the Lucky 7 Fund for senior pets, and our Pets for Vets Fund for veterans and/or first responders. |
